Making an impact
The ideal candidate wishes to actively engage in a dynamic and professional team committed to meeting the needs of victims of criminal acts and their loved ones.
Main responsibilities
- Welcome, inform, and provide intervention services to victims of crime, their loved ones, and witnesses ;
- Assess needs and provide post-traumatic and psychosocial intervention ;
- Provide information regarding victims’ rights and available legal remedies, and offer the required technical assistance ;
- Explain the criminal justice process and deliver witness preparation programs ;
- Accompany victims throughout judicial proceedings, including court appearances ;
- Ensure accurate record keeping and statistical reporting ;
- Perform any other related duties in line with the organization’s mandate ;
- The position also involves meeting partners from the Kitigan Zibi and Lac Barrière communities to strengthen and develop collaborative processes.
Collaboration :
The person will work closely with the following partners :
- Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) ;
- Police services ;
- Organizations within the health and social services network ;
- Community organizations in the region.

Requirements and skills sought
- Hold a university degree that allows membership in one of the following professional orders: OTSRFQ, OPPQ, OPQ, OPSQ, OPCQ, or be listed in the acquired rights register of one of these orders ;
- Any other relevant training and experience related to social intervention will be considered ;
- Excellent judgment and strong clinical analysis skills ;
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in collaboration with external partners.
Your strengths for this position
- Hold a valid driver’s licence ;
- Professional experience in victimology or in related intervention settings ;
- Good knowledge of the judicial system ;
- Membership in a professional order will be considered an asset ;
- Bilingualism in French and English. Knowledge of Algonquin is considered an asset in the context of services provided to Indigenous clients.
